materials and components for Glazing, Display and Electronics & Energy. In the mature businesses such as architectural
glass, we will achieve high profitability through operational
excellence as well as continuous innovation, and through
cultivation of growth markets. In the growth businesses
such as flat panel display glass, we will realize rapid
growth and high profitability by building dominant market
positions. In the future growth area (materials and components
for Electronics & Energy) that are and will be of great
importance to us, we will focus on select fields of high
potential based on our technologies in such fields as
fluorine chemistry and optoelectronics.

market positions (No.1 or No.2) in architectural glass,
automotive glass and display glass (CRT, TFT, PDP) in
the world. Also, the Group has the world's top-level technologies
in glass, fluorine chemistry and their related fields
that are applied broadly.
